Here is a little video review that I created about my SIDI shoes. I should warn you that I sound heavily sedated! Sorry:oops:

Hi folks, ColinJ here – I’m trying to sell you a pair of Sidi Bike Shoes but not this particular pair – these are mine! I’ve had them for quite a long time now and I’ve done about 20,000 miles or 32,000 kms in them. They’re 10 years old, pretty stylish, maybe getting slightly tatty now, but still in pretty reasonable condition generally.

If you look at the sole, you can see that this heel pad is a bit worn [NB - you can buy replacement parts for Sidi shoes these days]
the cleat is very worn [d'oh - what's that got to do with the actual shoe!]. The uppers are perfectly okay, the straps and buckles are intact, no problems there.

I’ll explain what this business under the cleat is all about… [I'm pointing at the cleat on the left shoe. My left leg is significantly shorter than my right and it was making me sit twisted on the bike and it gave me back problems. I had the idea of putting some packing under the left cleat to reduce the effective difference in lengths. I settled on half the actual difference because it made my foot too unstable on the pedal when I packed it out to the full difference].

If you’re a keen cyclist then you should buy a decent pair of shoes. You don’t have to buy them from me, you don’t have to buy Sidi, just spend the money to get good quality pair of shoes – your feet will not thank you [how would they - they can't speak! ] for buying cheap shoes if you are doing long rides.

So, where’s the best place to buy? Well, obviously I’d like you to buy through the advertising links above, but… I also like Local Bike Shops (LBS) so if you have a good LBS that has the kind of shoes that you want to buy at a price that you can afford, by all means go to your LBS!

On the other hand, I’d love you to buy through my ads because I would get a sales commission (which will go towards buying myself some nice new bike kit!).

I think Sidi shoes are great and you won’t regret buying a pair.

For my American viewers – the company I am recommending is a sister company of Amazon.com, so it is a very reputable company. They do free two-day delivery all over the USA [I mistakenly said overnight delivery in the video - sorry!], and free returns so if for example you buy a pair of shoes and they are slightly too tight, send them back [unmarked in the original packaging] and exchange them for a pair of the correct size. They have a 100% price match guarantee so you can’t buy cheaper elsewhere.

I love my Sidi road bike shoes and I’m going to buy a pair of Sidi mountain biking shoes when I can afford them!
